About Kim

Hi, thank you for visiting thekimfitway

My name is Kimberley, but I go by Kim.

Ever since I was 13, I knew I wanted to help athletes achieve their goals. High performance sport is what makes me tick. I am obsessed with the human body, and what it is capable of. I love people with big, audacious dreams and am driven by the challenge of working with someone to make that dream a reality.

I currently help runners build stronger, more resilient bodies through a membership programme which provides strength and run-specific training, as well as goal setting, progress checks and wellness monitoring. I treat everyone as if they’re an elite athlete because it doesn’t matter to me whether you’re striving for an Olympic medal (that’s me) or a ParkRun PB.

My background as an exercise physiologist and skeleton athlete (that sport where you throw yourself headfirst down an ice track on a tea tray) means I have a wealth of experience from the world of high-performance sport.

When I look at my career so far, a couple of things stand out. Firstly, being part of Team Scotland and supporting the athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. The buzz and intensity of working at a major championship was addictive; so much so that I took a career break shortly after to pursue my own sporting ambitions.

This leads on to my second highlight; competing for Great Britain in skeleton and breaking a 13-year old a track record on a track in Austria earlier this year. It was the most amazing feeling; a culmination of five years of learning and fine-tuning my preparation with the help of a fantastic support team.
